This post is for all of our male readers out there who are considering buying a very special ring for their lovely lady! Engagement season is right around the corner and in honor of this very special time; we would like to enlighten our men about diamonds and the engagement process.

First things first. You have to pick the most fabulous, sparkling diamond for the woman of your dreams! That’s where we come in.  We understand it can be confusing when choosing your diamond and we are here to enlighten you and help through the process. It helps to understand the four C’s: Clarity, color, carat and cut.

Clarity:the best type of clarity that you can buy is flawless. This means that the diamond shows no inclusions or blemishes under 10X magnification. The second best is internally flawless, which means the diamond has no inclusions under 10X magnification, but will have some minor blemishes. The list continues with very, very, slightly included, to very slightly included, to slightly included, to included.

Color: Color is the color that the diamond contains internally. The range can go from colorless, to yellow, slight tints of yellow, to gray or brown. Colors range from intense yellow to brown, blue, green or red. Green or red are more rare.

Carat: The value of a carat increases with carat size, because larger diamonds occur less frequently.

Cut: The cut refers to the proportions, finish, symmetry and polish of the diamond. There are many different types of cuts. Make sure to pick out a cut that fits the personality and style of your significant other. Helpful tip: check out her wedding Pinterest board!
